Please allow myself to introduce... myself.
My name is J.C. Rede and I live in Orlando, Florida. I am an actor, singer, and voice over artist. I will be using this blog to keep people abreast of what I have done and what I can do professionally.
A little background...
Ever since I was a little kid, I have been mimicking everything I could get my ears on. I was always fascinated by why things sound the way they do. At five years old in kindergarten for halloween I wanted to be Yogi Bear - specifically so I could have the excuse to walk around school and go: "Hey Boo-Boo!"You heard it, didn't you? In your head, the voice of Yogi Bear, right?
I did too. But I made my voice try to sound like that.
I did that with everything. News and weather. Top 40 DJs. Easy Listening stations. Oldies stations. The Moviefone guy. Cartoon characters. Theme parks. The list goes on and on. You get the picture.
Everyone always said I should be in radio, cartoons, movies, etc. My problem was that I could never figure out how to get there. After several derailments and wandering around I have finally found myself back where I started: A great voice being unused. But not for long.
The purpose of this blog is to showcase my auditions, host a demo reel, and videos showcasing my vocal "prowess". (As you can no doubt tell I have also managed to digest a thesaurus.) I am focusing currently on audiobooks, since that marries my two loves: books and working with my voice.
